Holiday Icon Interchangeable Banner - April Flowers

I know that normally April Showers bring May flowers, but with all of the gloomy weather recently I needed to brighten things up with some beautiful blooms!  So, I am skipping the April Showers and switching it APRIL FLOWERS!

You might remember THIS POST, where I shared my Holiday Icon Interchangeable Banner for St. Patrick's Day and Easter over on the Kunin Blog, but if not here are a few photos...

St. Patrick's Day is over and Easter is past, so the shamrocks and bunnies have been put away, but I wanted something new and fresh on my Canvas Corp Brands Burlap Shape Pocket banner, so I decided lavender flowers would be just the thing!

I cut out several flowers from a Sizzix die using my Big Shot machine from Kunin Eco-fi® Classicfelt™ Bright Lilac, Orchid and Purple.  This is a bigger die, so I could cut all three layers of felt at the same time.





Stack up the felt flowers largest to smallest and alternating colors for interest.  Sew bright yellow buttons to the center of the 2 smallest flowers in each grouping with embroidery floss.  Glue flower layers together and add a stem to the back of each flower with jumbo rick rack using Tombow MONO Multi Liquid Glue, let dry.

Attach Tombow Fastener Tabs (hook and loop tabs) to the back of the flowers, hang and enjoy!
