Tombow USA and Clique Kits Blog Hopping!

Hi and Welcome to the Holiday Blog Hop with Tombow USA and Clique Kits! We have a great lineup of Holiday projects created with Tombow USA Adhesives and the Clique Cards Holiday Edition Kit! In addition to all this amazing inspiration we have two amazing super prizes!

Now, on to my project:

Clique Kits sent this super fun collection of Christmas papers and embellishments from a wide variety of companies (some I had not heard of).  It's the Clique Cards Holiday Edition Kit.

Start out with a 12" flat wooden wreath form and color the inner ring with Tombow Dual Brush Pen #195 Light Green.

Measure and cut papers from the Photo Play Dear Santa paper pad into 2" by 6" strips, with a paper trimmer and dovetail the ends with scissors.  Starting at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock, attach light colored papers to the wreath form with Tombow MONO Aqua Liquid Glue.  Fill the entire wreath.

Fill in a second layer with the brighter colored papers using Tombow Foam Tape to create dimension.

Measure and cut My Colors cardstock Herb Garden in two strips 2 1/2" by 11" and Firecracker in two strips 1 1/2" by 11".  Fan fold all four lengths, attach two pieces, then ends with Tombow Xtreme Adhesive to create a tube.  Xtreme Adhesive is 5x's string than a regular adhesive runner, so roll to apply then swipe to the side for a clean application - I LOVE THIS STUFF!

Punch White Smoke cardstock into two 2" circles.  Apply Tombow Xtreme Adhesive to one side.  Gather fan folded tube at the top and push down to create a rosette.  Apply circle onto the bottom and pinch to adhere.

Punch a 3" scalloped circle from Granite cardstock and a 2" circle from Herb Garden cardstock apply to green and red rosettes with Tombow Xtreme Adhesive.  Select stickers from the Photo Play Dear Santa Element Sticker sheet and apply to rosettes.

Select embellishments from the Cocoa Vanilla 'Tis the Season Wood Veneer and color with Tombow Dual Brush Pens #195 Light Green; #173 Willow Green; #245 Sap Green; #847 Crimson and #993 Chrome Orange.  I am so glad that is discovered this technique because you can quickly add color to small wooden embellishments without have to wait for messy paint to dry!

Apply Wood Veneer Embellishments to rosettes with Tombow MONO Aqua Liquid Glue, let dry.

Tie red, white ribbon and bakers twine into a loopy bow and attach to top center of wreath with Tombow Xtreme Tabs.  Attach rosettes to left side of wreath with Tombow Foam Tape.  Apply flair buttons with Tombow Xtreme Tabs.  Randomly apply sticky back Enamel Dots from Eyelet Outlet over surface of wreath.

Now, on to the FUN STUFF!  We have two awesome prizes for this hop!

Use the Rafflecopter widget below to win one of these prizes! Giveaway ends December 20th, 2015.

See You at CHA BLOG HOP!

Welcome to day 2 of the See you at CHA BLOG HOP!

I’m getting pretty excited for the CHA Mega Show in January, and I’m also excited today to be joining some of the manufacturers and designers taking part in the show for the See You at CHA! Blog Hop

Are you ready for the biggest, most epic blog hop ever? Nearly 60 CHA members from around the world are coming together to help us celebrate the CHA MEGA Show’s 75th anniversary for a whole week – Monday, December 7 through Friday, December 11.

Each blogger will highlight something special about the upcoming CHA MEGA Conference & Trade Show. It could be a sneak peek of their new products being released, details about their workshops and make-n-takes, an inspiring project tutorial, or what they are most excited about doing and seeing at the Show.

You’ll have plenty of chances to enter to win our $500 Visa gift card each day of the hop, on any of the participating blogs. Everyone is eligible to win, whether you’re in the U.S. or international.

I am super excited to talk to you today about the DESIGNERS IN ACTION event that will take place during all four days of the 2016 MEGA SHOW, Saturday January 9th through Tuesday January 12th on the show floor.

The Designers in Action Event at CHA 2016 Mega Show!

The Designer Section Council is delighted to announce that the improved Designers in Action area will once again in Anaheim at the CHA 2016 Mega Show.  The areas formerly known as the Designer Showcase and Designer Display have now been combined and re-envisioned into this exciting area which will include “Showcase” stations, “Action” stations and Roundtable discussions on the show floor. Additionally, Designer Members will be encouraged to utilize this area for their meetings and networking. The concept is to have this area buzzing with designers, creating, sharing ideas and networking during the entire show.

Showcase Stations - The Showcase Stations are a sturdy cube shape of 39” high base and 41” square tops, that provides a 360 view of your work OR a 86” tall by 36” wide 2D wall display (double sided with 2 shelves), that is carpeted, so illustrations can be easily displayed.  Designers can display their 3D portfolios and handmade creations for viewing during the entire four day show.

The Designer Meet and Greet will take place from 3:30 until 5:30 pm on Sunday January 10th.  This event allows the Manufacturers, Editors, Publishers and Retail Buyers the opportunity to meet the Designers, in person, to discuss services that can be provided.  Showcase Station participants also receive the proprietary list of event participants with complete contact information – great for follow ups!

Action Stations - This exciting new format is designed to bring on-going activity and more visibility for Designer Members on the show floor. Demonstrations, book author signings, make and takes, social media, networking – the Action stations are designed to showcase the many talents of Designer Section members. Set at the front two corners of the event area, the Action station tables will create action, interest and on-going activity within the event space.

NEW! this year is the addition of the Designer Roundtables in our Designers in Action Event space during show hours!  Check out the schedule, then stop by to interact with, ask questions and obtain insight from our Designer Members on a variety of topics!

So, stop by the Designers in Action event at the 2016 CHA Mega Show located between Hall B and Hall C, and experience the creativity!

DO YOU WANT TO BUILD A SNOWMAN? with TOMBOW

Winter is my favorite time of the year, so I created this bright and happy Snowman to decorate my mantel all winter long!  I used ALL of my favorite Tombow USA products to accommodate the different surfaces and textures to make my Snowman really come to life!  My Snowman was quick and easy to make, so I hope that you will make one, or maybe two – one to keep and one to give away!

Here’s What You Will Need:

Tombow sent me these products to complete my project for the Round 2 of the 2016 Design Team - hope you like it!

Here’s How to Make It:

  1. Apply lace to four sheets of mat board using Tombow MONO Multi Liquid Glue, let dry.

  2. Mold white air dry clay into a ¾” carrot shape, let dry at least 24 hours.

  3. Die cut two sets of smallest size block from black mat board with die cutting machine.  Pre-fold all scores.  Color edges and folds with Tombow Dual Brush Pen Black N15.  Attach block pieces (according to package directions) with Tombow Xtreme Permanent Adhesive

  4. Die cut two sets of the medium, large and extra large size blocks from the lace covered mat board with die cutting machine.  TIP: Make sure to place the lace side face down on the die, so the shapes are cut properly.  Pre-fold all scores.  Gently remove the first layer of the mat board and lace from all six tabs, so the blocks will assemble easily.

  5. Attach medium, large and extra large block pieces (according to package directions) with Tombow Xtreme Permanent Adhesive.  TIP:  Spot glue any loose edges of lace with Tombow MONO Multi Liquid Glue.

  6. Remove the Heart and Flower die shapes from Scoreboards XL Blocks/Cubes 3D Die.  Color front and sides of Heart with Tombow Dual Brush Pen Rubine Red 755, cover with Tombow MONO Multi Liquid Glue, then sprinkle on garnet glitter.  Color front and sides of Flower with Tombow Dual Brush Pen Reflex Blue 493, cover with Tombow MONO Multi Liquid Glue, then sprinkle on lapis glitter.

  7. Once carrot nose is dry, color with Tombow Dual Brush Pen Orange 933.  Apply “rosy cheeks” with cotton swab and pink chalk.   Attach carrot nose, button eyes, button mouth and buttons to front of Snowman with Tombow MONO Multi Liquid Glue.

  8. Measure and cut checkered ribbon to fit around smallest block.  Attach with Tombow MONO Permanent Adhesive Runner.  Attach 2” by 2” craft foam to base of smallest block with Tombow MONO Multi Liquid Glue to create the Snowman’s top hat.  Apply snowflake rhinestone to glittered flower, then attach to band of top hat with Tombow Xtreme Tabs.  Apply glittered heart to left chest of Snowman with Tombow Xtreme Tabs.

  1. Gather six different ribbons, knot in center and attach knot to back of Snowman’s head with Tombow Xtreme Tabs.  Tie ribbons in a loose knot at the front right of the Snowman’s head, securing with Tombow Xtreme Tabs, then let the ribbons cascade.  Trim any long ends of ribbons.

I love the texture that the lace gives to the Snowman, it’s so unique!  I enjoy pushing the envelope to test the limits of what the Tombow USA products can do, and I am always pleasantly surprised that they perform so well!  It is because all of the Tombow USA products are such high quality and so versatile, and I can no longer create without them!

Thank you for stopping by!  -Beth
